Creamy Tomato Dip

Ingredients:
2 medium tomatoes, Ontario greenhouse or firm field tomatoes- 1 250 g package of softened cream cheese
- 1 cup/250mL Miracle Whip salad dressing
- 3/4 cup/188mL real bacon bits
Instructions:
- Remove seeds and juice from tomatoes; dice them up (1/2” or 1.5 cm).
- Put all ingredients in a big bowl. Combine well by stirring and refrigerate overnight.
- Serve with Fritos, beer bread or your favourite firm textured cracker/chip.
Tips:
- This recipe is easily doubled; use 3 large tomatoes (approx. 10 cm/3-4 inch), an entire small 475 mL jar of Miracle Whip, 1-1/2 cups of bacon bits, while simply adding another package of cream cheese. Enjoy one and share the other!
- You can also use mayonnaise but the dip will not have such a tangy zip. Be sure to use the bacon bits, not the bacon pieces. This is delicious dip that is often requested; lower calorie options by using light cream cheese and Miracle Whip.
